Docket Clerk

Hershkovitz & Associates is seeking a Docket Clerk with a minimum of two years’ experience docketing patent prosecution matters in a law firm setting.

Job Description:

  • Review all incoming correspondence and input case information into firm’s patent docketing database
  • Generate, print and distribute daily docket reports
  • Monitor and clear dockets by coordinating with attorneys and staff to make sure all docket dates are satisfied
  • Conduct mail matching, de-docketing of files, and transfer-in audits
  • Assist with other patent prosecution projects as assigned

Requirements: 

  • Two years’ patent docketing experience, preferably with ProLaw
  • Knowledge of U.S. patent calendaring and filing deadlines, and U.S. and foreign patent prosecution rules and regulations
  • USPTO electronic patent filing experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Organized self-starter with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work well under pressure
