Stanislaus AksmanStanislaus Aksman’s legal career in IP spans more than thirty years. Mr. Aksman has been a partner at several well-known national and international law firms and was a senior patent attorney at Mobil Oil Corporation. He has extensive experience in patent application preparation for domestic and PCT filings, U.S. and international patent application prosecution, reissues, reexaminations, patent interferences, and appeals to the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

He has represented clients in a variety of technologies, including chemistry, electro-mechanical devices, chemical engineering and life sciences, e.g., polymers, oil refining, catalysis, synthetic fibers, petrochemicals, zeolites, agricultural and industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cancer markers, enzymes, biotechnology, medical devices, food products, beauty care, cosmetics, metal alloys, remote sensing of vehicle exhaust emissions, xerography, mechanical devices, semiconductor, and optical disk manufacturing.

Mr. Aksman is registered to practice before the USPTO and is admitted to the Virginia State and District of Columbia Bars; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia. He received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (B.S.Ch.E.) degree from Cornell University on an academic scholarship.

He is a former member and Chair of the Virginia State Bar Board of Governors, Intellectual Property Law Section, and he is a former Co-Chair of both the Trade Secrets Licensing Committee and the Central Europe Committee of the Licensing Executives Society.

Mr. Aksman is fluent in English, Russian and Polish.
